The first recording I made, simulating a wax cylinder but made spooky, is attempting to evoke the leitmotifs of the game in under a minute: confusion, obfuscation, a muddling of senses and of time-perception, all while trying to parse what is clearly intentional, though the intent itself remains shrouded. I would have liked to have sat the strings further back into the dust of the main piece, since it rests uncomfortably bright and clear currently, but I justified it at the time by saying that in itself is spookerific: CD-quality string instruments on a wax cylinder? Eldritch, it's gotta be.
